World Heavyweight Championship: Jey Uso beats Gunther

The event kicked things off with the heavyweight clash between Jey Uso and the champion, Gunther. Both men set the tone with multiple back-and-forth exchanges. Gunther even looked to assert his dominance with a few chops and moves off the top rope, but Jey seemed to be able to find the counter at the right time. Just when things remained uncertain, Jey Uso used some of Gunther’s signature moves, including the sleeper-hold to get the win via submission to get his first major singles title.

World Tag Team Championships: The New Day beat War Raiders

The New Day came out quickly, trying to catch the champions off guard, but the title-holders quickly regained control, dealing early damage. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods lead the offensive charge on Erik, targeting his neck, but the champion got the hot tag here and unleashed a fury of attacks, but to no avail, as a dirty play by the challengers with Kofi Kingston playing it cheeky to get the New Day to yet another tag-team title.

    Jade Cargill Beats Naomi

Jade Cargill wasted no time in going on the offensive charge but Naomi was able to hold her own with a variety of moves both on and off the ring. Cargill was able to use her physical superiority here to push herself back in the contest despite being hit with the split-leg moonsault. She was able to finally land her finisher to pin Naomi for the three-count.

United States Championship: Jacob Fatu beats LA Knight

LA Knight was made to work right from the start against the physically dominant Jacob Fatu who did not look like he broke a sweat. Despite Knight’s struggles, he was unable to defend his US title as multiple moonsaults ensured that Jacob Fatu secured his first singles title.

El Grande Americano Beats Rey Fenix

In what was an interesting matchup between two luchadors, El Grande Americano got the better of the debutant Rey Fenix who stepped in place of Rey Mysterio. Americano had some cheeky tactics in mind when he put in a metal plate on his helmet and got some headbutts in to gain the advantage. Fenix despite his high-flying flashy moves was unable to come out victorious in the end.

WWE Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton beats Charlotte Flair

Both women started off aggressively, but Charlotte took charge with her signature start. But Stratton kept herself in the contest with a few moves here and there. Charlotte looked to go for the moonsault early on but the champion tactfully targeted Charlotte’s injured knee. Flair looked to get back in the contest with her signature hold the Figure-8 leg-lock, but Stratton piled on the attack to Flair’s knee to break the hold. Stratton delivered a vicious whiplash into the turnbuckle and followed it up with a perfect moonsault to seal the victory and retain her title.

Paul Heyman and his allegiance was certainly the spotlight in the main-event clash between CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. But no one expected the ending as it happened. The OTC was dominating momentarily having powerbombed both his opponents through the announcer’s table but Heyman played the ultimate betrayal by delivering low-blows to both of his former partners and giving the chair to Seth Rollins who attacked Roman Reigns and delivered the finisher to come out victorious alongside his possibly new partner in Paul Heyman himself.
