'We’re Worried': COMEDK Aspirants Seek Postponement Of Exam Amid India-Pakistan Tensions
Students appearing for COMEDK UGET 2025 have urged authorities to postpone the exam due to rising India-Pakistan tensions, citing fear, anxiety, and preparation disruptions.

With tensions escalating between India and Pakistan, several students appearing for the COMEDK Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) 2025 have urged the authorities to postpone the exam, citing fear, anxiety, and disruption in their preparation. The entrance exam, conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka, is scheduled to be held tomorrow, May 10, across India.
This year, a total of 1,31,937 candidates have registered for the test. It will be conducted in 28 states, 179 cities, and 248 test centres in three sessions — morning (8:30 am to 11:30 am), afternoon (1 pm to 4 pm), and evening (5:30 pm to 8:30 pm).

While the exam is crucial for securing admission to engineering courses at private colleges in Karnataka, many aspirants have raised concerns about appearing for the test amid rising geopolitical tensions — with several of them emailing News18 directly to share their fears and urge a postponement.
“In such a sensitive time, holding the exam as per the original schedule feels unreasonable. We’re not asking for special treatment — just a fair chance to perform well without national-level uncertainty looming over us," Nishtha, a COMEDK aspirant, told News18.com.
“Many candidates, including myself, are facing mental stress, logistical challenges, and safety issues due to the escalating tensions. In such extraordinary circumstances, holding the exam as per the original schedule would not only be unfair but could also put the well-being of thousands of students and their families at risk. I earnestly and urgently request the COMEDK authorities to postpone the examination until the situation stabilises," said Vidhisha, another aspirant.

“With the rising uncertainty and escalating situation between India and Pakistan, students across the country, especially those preparing for critical exams like COMEDK UGET 2025, are gripped with fear, anxiety, and confusion. At a time when the focus should be on studies, many of us are unable to concentrate, unsure about safety, and emotionally unsettled," Piyush said.
As of now, COMEDK authorities have not issued any statement regarding a potential schedule change.
