The Press Information Bureau (PIB) issued several warnings about the spread of misinformation in the wake of India’s “Operation Sindoor." The PIB debunked several widely circulating videos, clarifying that the clips do not depict what they are alleging to. Sharing a false claim of a Pakistani attack on an Indian military colony claimed by some social media accounts on X (formerly Twitter), PIB confirmed that the video is, in fact, an old video from Indonesia, dated May 6th, 2025.

This means that the video was recorded before Operation Sindoor was even launched. The PIB is urging the public to be cautious of unverified information circulating online and to rely on official sources for accurate updates regarding Operation Sindoor and related events.

In another tweet, PIB clarified that Pakistani social media accounts are misrepresenting an old video (from September 2019) of the Pakistan Army raising a white flag at the LoC for body recovery, as footage of the Indian Army doing the same.

It said, “An old video from September 2019 of the #Pakistan Army raising white flag at LOC to recover bodies of its dead soldiers is being shared by Pakistani handles with the false claim that it is #IndianArmy waving white flags at LOC to retrieve bodies of its soldiers."

PIB also debunked another viral video which claimed to show an aircraft crash and linked it to Operation Sindoor.
