Operation Sindoor: Palak Tiwari 'Happy' India Is 'Fighting Back' But Hopes For Peace | Exclusive
Palak Tiwari says India wouldn't have attacked Pakistan if 'they didn't absolutely have to'. She believes that war isn't the answer and hopes for peace to prevail.

Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif, among many others, took to social media and reacted to Operation Sindoor, India’s military retaliation to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 28 lives. Many, in fact, lauded the two senior women officers – Colonel Sophia Qureshi of the Indian Army and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh of the Indian Air Force – who shared key operational details alongside Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, marking a historic moment for women in Indian military leadership.
Now, speaking exclusively to News18 Showsha, Palak Tiwari reacts to India’s strikes against terrorism in the Pakistani-administered Kashmir. While she feels that war is never the answer, she praises the Indian government for taking a stand for its civilians. “It’s really unfortunate and deeply, deeply saddening that it ever had to come to this because lives matter. But I understand that often in situations like this, we’ve to do what we’ve to do. With India’s political stance, we wouldn’t have [attacked Pakistan] if we didn’t absolutely have to," she states.

Speaking to us during the promotions of her upcoming release Romeo S3, Palak says that she recognises the efforts of our armed forces and prays for better times. “At the same time, it’s innocent lives that are lost and that’s never right. As happy as I’m that our country is fighting back, it’s always sad. I truly hope that it doesn’t escalate, for the betterment of our country and for the sake of our lives. Our soldiers are putting their entire lives at risk to protect us. And I wish for peace," she adds.
Following Operation Sindoor, on the night of May 7-8, the Integrated Counter UAS Grid and Air Defence systems neutralised Pakistani drones and missiles that attempted to target northern and western India. Reacting to it, Palak’s Romeo S3 co-star Thakur Anoop Singh of TV shows Ramayan and Mahabharat fame, says, “We’re just reacting to the action caused earlier. We’ve put our faith in the government and they know the best. We’ve no idea what the frontline officers at the borders are dealing with. I completely give credit to them."
Praising PM Narendra Modi and his measures to avenge the deaths of the tourists in Pahalgam, he remarks, “India’s a country that wouldn’t attack unless provoked. But how much will you tolerate? You can’t come to our home and damage everything. We can’t be letting go every time. This sentiment was brewing within a lot of young Indians. I respect and have complete faith in Shri Modi ji. I’m with him and every step that he’s taking because nation should always come first."
On a related note, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has strongly condemned Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan for their ‘anti-India’ statements. “Mahira Khan labelled India’s military response as a ‘Seriously Cowardly’ act, while Fawad Khan, instead of condemning terrorism, focused on criticising India’s stance and supporting divisive narratives (sic)," AICWA wrote on X.
