Kim Soo Hyun’s Legal Woes Grow As Another Company Sues Him For $2 Million
According to the legal community, the company, referred to as ‘A’, filed a complaint against Kim Soo Hyun at the Seoul Central District Court.
South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun has been at the centre of a massive controversy related to his personal life. It all began when the late actress Kim Sae Ron’s aunt made some bombshell revelations about their relationship. Following this, Kim Soo Hyun not only received the wrath of people online but also faced a severe blow to his public image and his career.
Most recently, he landed in hot waters after two companies sued, seeking damages in billions. To add to his woes, another advertiser has sued the actor and his agency, GOLD MEDALIST, for 2.80 billion KRW (approximately $1.95 million) in damages, as reported by Koreaboo. On May 2, according to the legal community, the company, referred to as ‘A’, filed a complaint against Kim Soo Hyun at the Seoul Central District Court. The two parties had a modelling contract.

Company A reportedly terminated the contract with Kim Soo Hyun due to the public backlash caused by the controversy related to his personal life. They blame the actor and his agency for the situation and have asked them to compensate for the losses that they incurred.
On April 28, reports surfaced in the media stating that two companies that had hired Kim Soo Hyun as an advertising model sued him for the reimbursement of the fees that they paid him and asked for compensation for damages. As per a source quoted by Soompi, the companies sued the Queen of Tears actor for a total of 3 billion won (approximately $2.1 million) combined.
Another company C also terminated their contract with the 37-year-old actor due to the breach of trust. Speaking on the same, lawyer Park Sung Woo, who is representing the plaintiffs, said, “Usually, advertisers tend to be reluctant to become known as the first [company] to file a lawsuit against a model. However, once it is revealed that one company has filed a lawsuit, it is likely that more advertisers will join in suing."
This comes after Kim Soo Hyun was accused of dating Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor and he was in his late twenties. Following the allegations, the actor called a press conference, where he shared his side of the story, accepting that he dated the late actress, but only when she was above 18. He mentioned that the two dated for a year, contrary to the claims made by her aunt, who said that they dated for 5-6 years before parting in 2021.
