“It does not look nice that cricket goes on while the country is at war,” a BCCI official told PTI, confirming the suspension of the high-profile league, which was to wind up on May 25 in Kolkata.

We will take a call on the tournament’s future depending on the situation tomorrow. As of now, players’ safety is utmost important,” BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla said in a statement.

The IPL 2025 match between PBKS and DC in Dharamsala was called off after 10.1 overs. The teams and the spectators were eventually evacuated from the stadium for their security. The capacity of the picturesque ground is approximately 23,000, and it was packed to about 80 per cent of it at the time of evacuation.
“There was no panic from the spectators. They (spectators and players) were moved out of the stadium very carefully and safely,” an HPCA source told PTI.
