India currently ranks fourth in Global Firepower Index 2025, with Pakistan at 12.

In a sharp response to the Pahalgam terror attack, India launched a series of targeted precision strikes under ‘Operation Sindoor’ against terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday, almost a fortnight after the terror attack. As tension between both countries escalates, here’s a comparison of both nation’s military capabilities, according to Global Firepower Index 2025. India currently ranks fourth in the Global Firepower Index, with Pakistan at 12.

India operates 2,229 military aircraft, including 513 fighter jets, while Pakistan falls behind with 1,399 aircraft and 328 fighters. India also has 899 helicopters and 6 aerial tankers compared to Pakistan’s 373 helicopters and 4 aerial tankers. (File Pic)

India’s armoured corps has nearly 4201 tanks, while Pakistan has 2, 627 tanks. Furthermore, India has 148,594 armoured vehicles compared to Pakistan’s 17,516. (File Pic)

India’s naval fleet stands at 293 vessels, including two aircraft carriers: INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant, 13 destroyers and 18 submarines. On the contrary, Pakistan operates 121 vessels without any aircraft carriers or destroyers. (File Pic)
