The Indian Armed Forces on Thursday night struck targeted locations in Lahore in retaliation to Pakistan’s attack at several places, including Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Punjab.

Sources reported that India’s retaliatory strike on Lahore triggered widespread panic in the Pakistani city, with multiple explosions causing chaos and a sense of alarm across the area.

Meanwhile, Indian infantry and artillery units also launched a coordinated attack on Pakistan’s Sialkot Bajwat sector, in response to Pakistani strikes in Jammu and Kashmir and other areas.

A dozen locations in Jammu, including the airstrip, were targeted by drone and missile attacks from the Pakistani side on Thursday evening. It came just a day after India struck terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under Operation Sindoor.

Security agencies stated that Pakistan fired eight missiles aimed at the Jammu Civil Airport, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia, and nearby military sites. All of them were successfully intercepted by the S-400 air defence system, it added.

“Military stations at Jammu, Pathankot & Udhampur were targeted by Pakistani-origin #drones and missiles along the International Border in J&K today. The threats were swiftly neutralised using kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities in line with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). No casualties or material losses were reported," the ministry of Defence said in a statement.

India remains fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people, it added.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah held discussions with the Director Generals of all paramilitary forces, during which the DG of the BSF briefed him on the situation along the International Border.

After Islamabad launched air raids in the Jammu region, the Indian forces intercepted and downed two Pakistani drones near Jammu University. Reports also confirmed that two Pakistan drones were shot down in the Khor area of Jammu.

Further, security agencies confirmed artillery shelling in Kupwara, Udhampur, along with shelling targeting the air base in Pathankot. All nearby areas were also targeted.

Responding effectively, Indian defence systems countered the shelling and activated air raid sirens, which were heard in Akhnoor and Kishtwar in the Jammu Division.

A complete blackout was implemented in Akhnoor, Samba, Kishtawar and other regions.

Meanwhile, Red flares were also observed in the sky over Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, as air defence systems were activated to counter the potential aerial threat.
