BCCI Secretary Refutes Reports Of Emergency IPL Meeting, Call Yet To Be Taken
BCCI's Devajit Saikia confirmed no emergency meeting on IPL's future amidst tensions.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has said that the board did not have any emergency meeting on Thursday, and with the day having just begun, a decision is yet to be made over the future of the Indian Premier League, according to a report in PTI.
The match between the Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was called off on Thursday in Dharamsala due to a security concern, raising doubts over the continuation of the league amidst cross-border tensions.

There were reports that a meeting was held soon after the match was called off to assess the situation and decide on a result, but Saikia has refuted those rumours.
“We didn’t have an emergency meeting yesterday. The day has just started, we will assess the situation and take a call on the IPL over the day," Saikia told PTI.
The Punjab team was 122/1 in the 11th over when the lights went out in Dharamsala, attributed to floodlight failure at first.
The match had begun later than scheduled because of rain before the hills went dark for some time.
The franchises and the assembled crowd were evacuated from the HPCA Stadium for their security.
The Dharamsala stadium can accommodate 23000 fans, and it was packed to about 80% of its capacity at the time of evacuation.
Multiple people raised anti-Pakistan slogans while on their way out of the HPCA Stadium. Meanwhile, India on Thursday night thwarted Pakistan’s fresh attempts to strike military sites with drones.
Prabhsimran Singh was batting at 50 off 28 deliveries while his fellow opener Priyansh Arya made 70 off 34 deliveries before getting dismissed when the match was paused.
The cricketers and support staff of both the franchises will now be brought to Delhi aboard a special train from Pathankot, which is about 85km from Dharamsala. The franchises will reach Pathankot by road.
In a press statement, the MoD said that on the night of May 7-8, Pakistan attempted to engage a number of military targets in Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu and Pathankot, among other places.
Dharamsala’s sole airport and the ones in Kangra and Chandigarh are closed for operation at the moment as part of precautionary measures to avoid Pakistani attacks.
